i made this for you

This project involved designing a series of branding assets for a fictional event.

The narrative I came up with takes place in our world, a hundred years in the future – a time when scientists have succeeded in developing a genetic modification technique called anthrogenesis. Anthrogenesis synthesizes phenotypic animal traits into the human body, effectively extending the physical, biological and physiological bounds of the human body. This technique has the potential to completely reshape human culture and society.

Interactive virtual experience
[Exhibition postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19]

i made this for you is an interactive virtual experience that generates unique, personalized virtual worlds for visitors based on their inputs. Visitors begin the first-person virtual experience by answering a series of questions and providing other forms of user input. The underlying engine then analyzes and uses these inputs to create unique, personalized 3D worlds for visitors to explore.

i made this for you allows for over 800 unique world permutations. Variables affected include the landscape, topography, weather, skies, home decor, buildings, lighting and more. The questions and corresponding answer text were partly inspired and influenced by Adam King’s Talk To Transformer, built on top of OpenAI’s GPT-2 machine learning model.

This work comes from a longstanding interest in creating artistic experiences that connect with visitors on an emotional level. One way of achieving this emotional impact, I thought, was to personalize the experience for each visitor.

In future iterations, I hope to implement other forms of visitor input, such as recorded sound and long-form text, and further develop the worlds themselves.
